Using the ONS Evidence Based Education Guidelines Presented by: Barbara G. Lubejko, RN, MS This session demonstrates how you can use the new ONS Evidence Based Education Guidelines to more effectively integrate current evidence into presentations. Included are examples of ways to translate research findings into more clinically pertinent applications, tips on effectively citing evidence on slides, handouts, and reference lists, and resources to help identify the most appropriate evidence related to your topic. While these guidelines are designed for presenters at ONS sponsored education events, they can be applied to any setting where you want to enhance your audience’s ability to understand and implement the latest evidence into their clinical practices. Program objectives: 1. Discuss the importance of incorporating current evidence into presentations as a means of promoting evidence based practice. 2. Identify ways of including evidence into an educational presentation, including appropriate citation of evidence in slides, handouts, and reference lists.
